Sailfish OS is independent OS giving alternative for “big players”. It is an open and independent alternative to the mainstream. Sailfish matters, because the current market needs a formidable alternative for iOS and Android. Making the market structure less polarised between the two would surely lead to even greater innovation and development.
The brief was to sharpen and refine the Sailfish visual projection, so that it would work better on-(mobile)-screen and to reproduce better in small sizes.
The chosen identity/logo is based on a simplified iconography of the sailfish and the letter “S”. The spirit of the Sailfish is defined by the confidence and angularity of the forward and upward swim action.
